Tim Cahill central to deal as Lachlan Allen arrives at Everton ahead of potential signing

Lachlan Allen could be a future signing for Everton.

Seven new arrivals have checked in at Everton so far this summer, and the Toffees have shown no signs of stopping as The Friedkin Group look to take them to the next level.

Jack Grealish’s arrival from Manchester City has made the headlines, but the Merseysiders have been very shrewd in their dealings this summer.

Wolves goalkeeper Tom King is the latest arrival, though another shot-stopper could be inbound at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the future.

Allen already earning rave reviews ahead of Everton transfer

Alan Nixon reported on Sunday that Allen is on trial with Everton ahead of a potential transfer to Merseyside.

The 16-year-old has spent the past week with the Toffees and played in a friendly against a team of PFA free agents to showcase his ability in senior football.

Allen has been the subject of “rave reviews” despite his age and could prove to be the next big thing to come from Australian football.

Tim Cahill is the one behind the deal, having set up the trial as he looks to build a connection between his former club and upcoming Aussie talent.

Allen, described as “the best shot-stopping prospect Down Under”, is said to be keen on a move to England when he turns 18.

Jordan Pickford could be the perfect mentor for Allen

Throughout his time at Everton, Jordan Pickford has been a phenomenal servant, though there will be a time when he loses his place on Merseyside.

Pickford’s stats from the last campaign.

At 31 years old, he still has several years at the top of his game, but if Allen makes the move when he turns 18, there are very few better goalkeepers to learn from.

Pickford has everything in his game, and his influence on the teenager will be massive if a move to Everton does materialise.

Everton found longevity when they signed him from Sunderland, and they will be hoping they can achieve the same with Allen in the future.
