Tyler Dibling medical news drops as Everton reach agreement in principle for huge signing
Everton are on the verge of signing Tyler Dibling.
Southampton manager Will Still has recently admitted he’s unsure what the future holds for Dibling, who impressed in the Premier League as the South Coast club was relegated to the Championship.
The Exeter-born attacker has played just seven minutes of Southampton’s first three games of the new season, with his short cameo against Ipswich last week now looking as though it was his final appearance for Still’s side.
Everton are now reportedly set to sign the 19-year-old, with multiple reports suggesting that a deal is all but done for David Moyes to welcome him to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Tyler Dibling’s medical set to take place next week
Everton have signed Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tom King for their first-team squad so far this summer, with Carlos Alcaraz joining permanently after an initial loan spell on Merseyside last term.
Dibling will now become the sixth new face to join up with Moyes’ squad, although it seems as though he won’t be able to make his debut on Sunday when the Toffees play their first competitive game at their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock against Brighton.
Everton have been linked with signing Dibling throughout the summer, and now, The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has reported on Friday that they’re “close to an agreement with Southampton” for the teenage forward.
- Dibling is 19 years old and was born in Exeter on 17 February 2006
- He’s been capped for England at every level from Under-16 to Under-21
- The Everton-bound ace made his professional debut in Southampton’s loss against Gillingham in August 2023
Ornstein added that personal terms have been agreed in principle and if all goes well, he’ll undergo his medical next week.
Fabrizio Romano added via his personal X account that there’s a verbal agreement between Everton and Southampton, allowing Dibling to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for a £42million fee, plus a sell-on clause.
He adds that the England Under-21 international, who’s previously been on the books at Exeter City and Chelsea, initially agreed personal terms with the Toffees in July.

When will Tyler Dibling make his Everton debut?
Dibling’s now going to play this weekend when Everton take on Brighton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
It might be a rush, but he could make his first appearance for the Blues against Mansfield Town, who’ll make their way to Merseyside on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup second round.
Dibling didn’t play in Southampton’s Carabao Cup win over Northampton earlier this month, so he won’t be cup-tied for that game.
Dibling 24/25 | Premier League | Carabao Cup | FA Cup |
Appearances | 33 | 3 | 2 |
Goals | 2 | 0 | 2 |
Assists | 1 | 2 | 0 |
Failing that, and providing all goes smoothly, Dibling could be in Moyes’ squad for their trip to Molineux when they play Wolves in the Premier League next Saturday, 30 August.
If he misses that, Evertonians will have to wait until 13 September when they welcome Aston Villa to Merseyside after the international break.
