Jordan Pickford drops big transfer admission as major Manchester City talks begin

Jordan Pickford has established himself as one of Everton’s best players since signing for the club in 2017.

England’s number one has been crucial for the Toffees for a number of years, especially in their battles for survival.

As a result, there have been rumours about Pickford departing Everton over the past year, which has no doubt caused concerns.

Now, with just days left of the transfer window, Pickford has spoken out in a recent interview.

Jordan Pickford: Gianluigi Donnarumma will probably be sold

Alongside Pickford, many goalkeepers have been linked to numerous clubs in recent months.

Even the Toffees have got in on the action recently, with Tom King joining Everton from Wolves this month.

Another goalkeeper who is being linked elsewhere is Gianluigi Donnarumma.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror on 20 August, Manchester City have opened talks with PSG for the Italian goalkeeper.

Now, in an interview with the Liverpool Echo on 24 August, Pickford has given his verdict on multiple goalkeepers, including Donnarumma.

He said: “Me and Deano (Henderson) start every week then you’ve got Trafford at City and Popey and Ramsdale at Newcastle, so you’ve got top keepers there having the opportunity. We just do our best, but I think we’ve got a good set of goalkeepers in an England shirt.

“But there’s some top keepers all over the world, and you know, their ambition will be to play in the Premier League, like it is for most English keepers, it’s the best league in the world.

“So you’ve got Alisson at Liverpool, one of the best keepers in the world, and Donnarumma is probably at this moment in time. What he did at PSG last year, he’s probably the best keeper in the world, and his ambition is the Premier League, and I think he’ll get snapped up.”
