Everton’s new squad value revealed after Friedkin Group complete squad overhaul

Everton pushed the boat out this summer, signing nine new players for more than £100million.

The final signing came in the closing hours of deadline day, when Everton signed Merlin Rohl from SC Freiburg on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy.

David Moyes had hoped to sign a centre-half, but the Toffees ultimately decided against adding a tenth signing with time counting down.

Everton signed Tyler Dibling from Southampton in a deal worth around £40m, in what was their most expensive outlay of the window.

But the biggest story of the summer came when Everton signed Jack Grealish from Manchester City on loan, with the midfielder thriving at the Hill Dickinson Stadium so far.

Everton’s squad value enjoys slight increase

A host of players left Everton this summer, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure, who both left upon the expiration of their contracts.

That left the Friedkin Group with a huge task on their hands, with Moyes’ squad needing bolstering in several areas.

For the most part, the Scot has got what he wanted, but the defensive situation still remains vulnerable – especially after Vitalii Mykolenko suffered a further injury while with Ukraine’s national team.

But in the attacking area of the pitch, especially, Everton have improved substantially.

According to figures calculated by Transfermarkt, the Toffees’ squad value currently sits at around £320m, a slight increase from the £315m value last season’s squad boasted.

Everton’s squad has got slightly older in terms of average age, likely caused by the departures of several young players.

Where does Everton’s squad value rank in the Premier League?

Everton’s squad value, according to Transfermarkt, ranks 15th in the Premier League, with the Toffees sitting in the middle of the pack separated by the large gap enjoyed by Aston Villa in ninth.

West Ham’s £323m squad sits narrowly above Moyes’ side, whilst Fulham sit further back with a squad worth around £293m.

Premier League squad value:

Much of Everton’s squad value is carried by Jarrad Branthwaite, who is valued at £43m by Transfermarkt -although the Toffees rejected a bid worth £45m by Manchester United last summer and would likely only consider a sale at a fee worth double that.

New arrival Grealish is the second-most valuable player at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, boasting a £24.3m market price.
