While the return to action on the pitch has been on the agenda, there have also been multiple fascinating developments off the pitch on the blue half of Merseyside.
Here, Goodison News rounds up the latest Everton updates from 12 September.

Iliman Ndiaye injury blow emerges ahead of Everton vs Aston Villa
Everton have been struck by an Iliman Ndiaye injury ahead of their clash with Aston Villa.
Liverpool Echo reporter Joe Thomas claimed that David Moyes dropped a bombshell about the Senegal star during his pre-match press conference.
In a video posted on X, he said: “He then dropped another one for us, a bit of a bombshell, I guess, due to the importance and the start to the season that he has had, that is, Iliman Ndiaye.
“He was away with Senegal over the past 10 days or so, played in their World Cup qualifiers, Moyes says he has a knock, and is a bit of a doubt, so he is another question mark on the teamsheet.”

David Moyes shares Jarrad Branthwaite update ahead of Villa clash
Moyes has shared an update on Jarrad Branthwaite’s Everton availability for the Villa contest.
The England star has been out of action since picking up a hamstring injury that he suffered in pre-season, but there has been a positive development.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 12 September, Moyes said: “Jarrad is getting closer but he’s not quite there yet.”
Erling Haaland reacts as Jack Grealish announcement made
Erling Haaland has reacted after Jack Grealish won the Premier League Player of the Month award on Friday.
Grealish took to Instagram on 12 September after receiving the accolade, saying: “Delighted to be named Premier League player of the month in my first month at this brilliant club.
“Thank you, Toffees, for the welcome, and we keep on pushing. See you all tomorrow.”
Haaland commented on the post with two prayer emojis and a blue heart, and Declan Rice commented with three clapping hands.
Jordan Pickford, Dwight McNeil, Curtis Jones and Morgan Rogers also liked the post from the Toffees ace.

Everton plan to sign Jack Grealish for free emerges
Everton are plotting a free transfer swoop for Grealish, after his impressive exploits at the start of the season.
A report from The Telegraph on 12 September claims that the Blues would not be able to afford a fee for the 30-year-old, due to his £12million salary.
It states that City would not be willing to accept that and would likely demand a fee for the former England ace.
