Iliman Ndiaye injury news dropped as Everton bombshell from Finch Farm

Everton could be without Iliman Ndiaye for their clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Everton have won their last two Premier League matches and will be hoping to continue their impressive start to the campaign.

David Moyes‘ side hosts Unai Emery’s charges at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 13 September, with Jack Grealish looking to build on his Premier League Player of the Month form.

Grealish could make history if he can notch another two assists against his former club, but Ndiaye may not be starting alongside him.

David Moyes drops Iliman Ndiaye bombshell at Everton

Ndiaye has emerged as a key player for Everton, with two goals in their opening three matches, but he could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

Liverpool Echo reporter Joe Thomas described Moyes’ update on Ndiaye’s fitness as a bombshell.

Taking to his X account from outside Finch Farm, he said: “He then dropped another one for us, a bit of a bombshell, I guess, due to the importance and the start to the season that he has had, that is, Iliman Ndiaye.

“He was away with Senegal over the past 10 days or so, played in their World Cup qualifiers, Moyes says he has a knock, and is a bit of a doubt, so he is another question mark on the teamsheet.”

Tyler Dibling could replace Iliman Ndiaye for Everton

Tyler Dibling has been patiently waiting for an opportunity behind Grealish and Ndiaye since signing for the Toffees.

The ex-Southampton man impressed for England Under-21s in the international break, and will be hoping to capitalise on Ndiaye’s fitness issues.

Dibling’s only appearance for the Blues was in the 2-0 win over Mansfield in the Carabao Cup second round, and he has not been handed an opportunity to star in the league yet, as Grealish and Ndiaye have been on top form.

That will surely change if Ndiaye does not make the squad for the Villa clash, as the Blues do not have significant depth on the flanks, and he can operate from the right.

The Ndiaye issue will be a disappointing blow for Moyes and Co., but it could allow the 19-year-old the chance to shine and force his way into the team.

Sometimes an injury is all it takes for a new star to be born, and the Scotsman will hope that is the case on this occasion.
