Iliman Ndiaye stuns as 4/10 tragic – Everton player ratings vs Aston Villa

Everton laboured to a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday.

David Moyes has enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign, but their momentum was halted on 13 September.

The Toffees were the better side at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as Moyes made one change to his Everton line-up, which had won two of their first three matches.

Tim Iroegbunam came in to replace the injured Vitalii Mykolenko, with James Garner shifted to the left-back position.

Ndiaye is the star despite Everton draw

Iliman Ndiaye was one of Everton’s huge injury doubts for the clash, but he was deemed fit enough to start.

It was a huge relief for Moyes, as the Senegal star was the Toffees’ best player, creating two chances and constantly harassing the Villa defence, drawing fouls for his side and trying to make things happen.

He has started the season in brilliant form, scoring against Brighton and Wolves, and while he did not score this time, he was the most threatening for the Blues.

Ndiaye completed the most dribbles of anyone on the pitch, with three out of his six coming off, for a 50 per cent success rate.

Jack Grealish was expected to be the star for Moyes’ side after his Premier League Player of the Month award, but Ndiaye was the best player on the pitch on this occasion.

Beto flops in disappointing Everton draw

Beto struggled in front of goal for Everton against Villa, despite having multiple chances to open the scoring.

He missed a sitter as Ndiaye played a ball into the box just two minutes into the contest, as it hit his heel rather than the foot he was trying to connect with.

Beto then failed to reach a James Garner cross into the box that looked inch-perfect and would have been a guaranteed goal if he had connected, just after the half-time break.

Moyes eventually replaced the misfiring 27-year-old with Thierno Barry in the 74th minute, and the Frenchman

It gives the Scotsman a huge dilemma of who will lead his line ahead of the Merseyside derby with arch-rivals Liverpool next week.
