David Moyes has perfect solution to end hoodoo in Everton vs Liverpool
David Moyes is still looking for his first Anfield win as Everton manager.
Everton boss Moyes has never won at Liverpool’s stadium, in 23 attempts, with the Blues, Manchester United, Sunderland and West Ham.
Moyes’ Everton side will be confident that they can come away with a positive result, given that the Reds have relied on late-winners in all of their Premier League matches so far this season.
Everton have spent longer in winning positions than the Reds this season, and they could maintain that, if the Blues can take advantage of one of their strengths on Saturday 20 September.

Everton need to exploit corners to beat Liverpool
Liverpool have had superiority over Moyes‘ side in his two stints on Merseyside, but they have an obvious route to victory when the sides meet again.
A new reveal from the Opta Analyst shows that the Blues are one of the best teams in the league when it comes to corner kicks.
The Toffees rank first for shots from corners with 24 and have the greatest share of shots taken after corners with 50 per cent.
Only Arsenal (3.2) have generated a higher expected goals figure from dead-ball situations than Moyes’ side’s 3.1xG.
Liverpool | Stats | Everton |
13 | Shots from corners | 24 |
14% | Share of shots taken after corners | 50% |
1.75 | xG from dead-ball situations (excl pens) | 3.1 |
David Moyes’ side have a real chance to beat Liverpool
The Reds are top of the league, with a perfect record, but that does not show the full story, not by any means.
They have relied on late goals to win those matches, which is a sign of an elite mentality, but they have been questioned about how long they can keep it up.
- Liverpool have scored winners in the 88th, 100th, 83rd, and 92nd minute in their first four league matches
- It is a sign of champions in terms of never giving up, but it could also be perceived as a huge stroke of luck
Surely, eventually, their luck has got to run out, and Moyes will hope that his side can be there to take advantage.
If they can make the most of their set pieces, they have every chance to end Moyes’ dismal record at the famous stadium.
