Everton predicted XI vs West Ham – Jarrad Branthwaite returns, summer signing dropped

Everton will look to get back to winning ways on Monday when they take on West Ham in the Premier League.

Wolves beat Everton 2-0 to knock David Moyes’ side out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, after the Scot had made wholesale changes to the team that lost to Liverpool.

But the decision blew up in the Toffees’ face, with goals from Marshall Munetsi and Tolu Arokodare handing Moyes consecutive losses for the first time this season.

Everton are overwhelming favourites against West Ham, however, with the Blues backed to get back on track at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Moyes could get Graham Potter sacked at West Ham should Everton emerge victorious, with the former Chelsea manager’s job under serious threat.

David Moyes to make widespread changes vs West Ham

Tim Ireogbunam was among the Everton players criticised for their performance against Wolves, and the midfielder is expected to be dropped on Monday.

Idrissa Gueye will likely return to the starting line-up alongside James Garner, who was among the only standouts on a disappointing night for the Toffees.

Jarrad Branthwaite could be set to finally return to the starting line-up for Everton against West Ham, with the defender having missed the entirety of the season so far.

Jordan Pickford will also return to the team, alongside Vitalii Mykolenko, who will return on the left of defence.

Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Iliman Ndiaye started on the bench against Wolves, but all three are expected to be named in the starting line-up against West Ham.

Thierno Barry and Beto were given a half each on Tuesday, with both strikers failing to leave an impression.

Moyes may be minded to start the latter, however, given the Scot’s general favouring of the Guinea-Bissau international.

Carlos Alcaraz fails to take chance vs Wolves

Carlos Alcaraz is among those who have been left largely on the periphery of Moyes’ team this season.

The midfielder signed permanently in the summer, after an impressive loan spell had seen him score two goals and provide three assists in 16 Premier League appearances, and just seven starts.

Alcaraz had been expected to be in the mix this season, too, but the trip to the Molineux marked just the Argentine’s third start of the season.

After Dewsbury-Hall had failed to impress against Liverpool, the match presented the 22-year-old with a chance to launch a case for a starting role in the Premier League.

But it was a chance that passed him by, with Alcaraz failing to leave an impression before he was substituted at the break.
