Grim Everton statistic suggests West Ham will cruise to victory at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Everton are set to face West Ham on Monday as they look to return to winning ways.

David Moyes’ side have now lost two matches on the bounce, after Wolves beat Everton 2-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

After this embarrassing defeat, all eyes turn to the match on Monday, as the Toffees host the Hammers at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton are the favourites for the West Ham clash, with the visitors’ in awful form at present.

However, there are plenty of statistics that suggest that Everton may struggle.

Everton have only won one of their last nine matches on Monday

Everton are set to play their second Monday night match of the season against West Ham.

The first came in the opening game week, as Everton lost 1-0 to Leeds at Elland Road.

The Toffees have rarely played on a Monday in recent years, with this not happening once in the 2024/25 campaign.

However, this may have been for the best, with the Merseyside club struggling to pick up wins on Mondays throughout the past few seasons.

In the last nine fixtures that have taken place on this date, Everton have only won once, a 5-1 victory over Brighton at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Of these nine matches, five have ended in defeats, including a 5-0 loss to Tottenham and a 6-0 humbling against Chelsea.

Everton’s recent record against West Ham

On top of their recent failings on Monday night, Everton have also struggled against West Ham in recent years.

In their past eight meetings, the Toffees have only beaten the Hammers twice, losing four times.

In their last clash, Everton drew 1-1 with West Ham, with Jake O’Brien netting a late equaliser.

Therefore, if Moyes is to get a victory against his former club, he will have to ensure his team finally ends these terrible recent trends.
