Everton ready bid to seal Konstantinos Karetsas transfer as VIP treatment emerges already

Everton have entered the race to sign Genk star Konstantinos Karetsas.

Everton boss David Moyes was backed by the Friedkin Group in the summer transfer market, with approximately £113million spent on new additions to the squad.

Everton have started the season well, but there are signs that they need more reinforcements in attacking positions, to truly challenge for Europe, as shown by the Sofascore graphic below.

It seems like the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit are plotting more moves for the winter transfer market as fresh details emerge.

Everton readying Konstantinos Karetsas swoop, could cost over £20million

Everton CEO Angus Kinnear has already outlined transfer plans for the winter, claiming that the Blues would not be active unless a good deal came along, and Karetsas would represent that.

Alan Nixon reported via his Patreon on 28 September that the Blues are one of five English teams that had scouts in the VIP seats when the right-winger played against Rangers in the Europa League.

He stated that the Greece star is expected to be sold in January or next summer, and could fetch over £20m in the market with the Toffees, Liverpool, Sunderland, Newcastle and Bournemouth eyeing a bid.

Konstantinos Karetsas interest could prove too much for Everton

The interest of other Premier League clubs, especially the Reds and the Magpies, could prove to be too much for the Blues.

Those two clubs are in a better position and can offer the 17-year-old Champions League football, which the Toffees cannot at the moment.

However, he may have a chance for more regular gametime with Everton, and that may tempt him to pick the Blues over those clubs.

It remains to be seen where Karetsas chooses to move, but it is encouraging that the Blues are in the race for his signature, as he is one of the best youngsters in European football right now.

The Friedkins can clearly afford to sanction the fee, so it will likely come down to whether Karetsas feels that Everton is the right move for his career.
