David Moyes gets it horribly wrong with Thierno Barry decision for Everton vs West Ham
David Moyes has named his Everton team to take on West Ham on Monday evening.
Everton are looking to make history at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 29 September, and become only the third team in Premier League history to not concede in their first three matches at a new ground.
David Moyes will fancy Everton’s chances of doing that, given the Hammers’ miserable run of form recently.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo could revive West Ham and beat Everton in his first game at the helm after replacing Graham Potter.

David Moyes again overlooks Thierno Barry for Everton vs West Ham
Everton are without Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl for the contest, and Moyes had some tough selection decisions to make.
The Scotsman has chosen to stick with the same backline that started the Merseyside derby loss to Liverpool, with Jordan Pickford, Jake O’Brien, Michael Keane and Vitalii Mykolenko retaining their spots.
James Garner and Idrissa Gueye are at the base of midfield, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall keeping his place as the number 10.
In attack, Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye start on the flanks, with Beto leading the line for the home side over Thierno Barry, who is once again overlooked in the league after starting against Wolves.

Everton could regret Thierno Barry call for West Ham clash
It is absolutely vital that the Blues pick up all three points against the Irons, especially given the chaos surrounding the East Londoners at the moment.
Moyes boasts a good record against Nuno, and the Toffees must take advantage to get their form back on track.
- Moyes has beaten Nuno on four of the seven times that they have faced each other
- Nuno has lost four of his last five matches against the Blues
- 2-0 win at Goodison Park in the 2024-25 season was the only win from the last five for Nuno
They have failed to win their last three matches in all competitions, with a dismal Carabao Cup exit to Wolves putting pressure on the Scotsman.
The decision to leave Barry out could prove to be horribly wrong, as Beto has struggled to make an impact in recent weeks, and the Frenchman needs time to get his footing in English football.
Moyes and the supporters attending will hope that is not the case, and that the hosts can get back to winning ways, after a few sobering weeks.
