Michael Keane tremendous, 4/10 a let-down – Everton player ratings vs West Ham

Everton could only manage a 1-1 draw against West Ham on Monday evening.

David Moyes‘ side were looking for their second win in three games at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium on 29 September.

Everton were facing a West Ham side managed by Nuno Espirito Santo for the first time, after Graham Potter was sacked.

Everton were looking to react after their Carabao Cup exit, but they could not do so against a struggling Irons side.

Beto struggles once again in Everton draw

Beto was a controversial selection for Everton, and he did not prove Moyes right with his display against the Hammers.

The Guinea-Bissau forward was an isolated presence and could not mark his influence on the contest, despite the Blues having most of the ball.

The 27-year-old was replaced by Thierno Barry in the 69th minute, and the striker merry-go-round continues for the Toffees.

Moyes needs to pick one and stick with them, because otherwise, how are they supposed to gain confidence to start finding the back of the net, if they are constantly being rotated.

Beto only recorded 17 touches, failed to complete a dribble and won one of six aerial duels, as per Sofascore.

Michael Keane amazes in Everton draw vs West Ham

Michael Keane notched the opener for Everton, with a powerful header past Alphonse Areola in the visiting goal, and he was tremendous throughout the contest.

Keane has stepped up in the absence of Jarrad Branthwaite, forming a solid partnership with James Tarkowski, and this may have been his finest game for the Blues for a considerable while.

He won the most duels in the contest, with eight and also made 10 clearances in the clash, according to Sofascore, in a great performance.

The former Burnley man has proved to Moyes that he deserves a chance, and it may be a struggle for Branthwaite to get back into the team, when he returns to fitness, if Keane keeps up this form.

It will be a dilemma for the Scotsman, but one that he will welcome, as you can never have too many good players.
