Wayne Rooney still Everton mad as image posted from Hill Dickinson Stadium
Wayne Rooney is beloved by Everton supporters all over the globe.
Rooney came through the Everton academy before becoming a global superstar with Manchester United, winning multiple Premier League and Champions League titles.
Rooney returned to Everton as a free agent in 2017, before ending his playing career with DC United and Derby County and going into management.
The 40-year-old clearly still holds a candle for the Toffees after what he did after the 2-0 win over Fulham on 8 November.

Wayne Rooney spotted enjoying Everton win vs Fulham
Rooney’s connection to Everton has never been in doubt, he loves his boyhood club, so much that he came back when there were surely more lucrative offers on the table.
Rooney attended the victory over Marco Silva’s side on Saturday, and he took to X afterwards to celebrate, showing that he is still mad about the Blues.
He shared an image of him and his son at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, commenting “get in” with a blue heart emoji.
Everton may have new Rooney in their academy
David Moyes could do with having Rooney in his team at the moment, as Beto and Thierno Barry are struggling desperately to score goals.
He may have a solution in the near future, from the academy at Finch Farm, as Braiden Graham is ripping it up at youth level.
- The 18-year-old joined the Toffees from Linfield in Northern Ireland in 2024
- He has notched four goals and one assist in nine Premier League 2 matches so far this season
- That takes his tally to 17 goals and six assists in his brief time on Merseyside
He scored twice in the Under-21s’ 3-0 win over West Brom on 7 November, and it is surely a matter of time before Moyes takes notice of his exploits.
He may not have a meteoric rise to stardom like Rooney, who was already a star at the age of 16, but if he can chip in with some goals, it would be extremely helpful for Moyes.
The Scotsman trusted Rooney to make the step up all those years ago; perhaps he should do the same with Graham in the near future, as he looks primed to join the senior ranks.
