Everton would accept £40m for James Garner despite major new contract news
James Garner’s contract at Everton currently expires in 2027.
Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish are just two of the names that have been in the headlines for Everton this season, and rightfully so, given the magic they have produced.
However, several stars have gone massively under the radar under David Moyes, and Garner is one of them.
The 24-year-old has started every game for the Toffees in the Premier League this season, and his performances have led to doubts over his future.

Aston Villa in race to sign James Garner amid Everton contract talks
Garner has attracted interest from Aston Villa over the last few days, with Everton set to step up their efforts to sign him to a new deal.
Given his importance under Moyes, it’s unlikely that the Toffees would sanction his exit, but Bryan King believes they would consider it if an offer too good to turn down were received.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “It usually comes in the last six months that trigger, so they’ve probably got until January to decide. He’s been playing well, and I would have thought it would be a no-brainer for Everton, to be honest.
“He’s been a standout player for them, and it would have been good to get him signed on for another season. They can’t afford to sell him at the moment, that’s for sure.

““I would have thought it would need £35m or £40m to sign him, considering what he’s done.”
David Moyes has hailed James Garner influence
Garner has hardly put a foot wrong for Everton this season, as demonstrated above by the graphic provided by Sofascore.
His versatility has been utilised, and his tenacity off the ball has been crucial to the success that the Toffees have found this season.
Moyes’ continued decision to select him is a showcase of the faith he has in the Englishman, and back in September, he hailed the form he has demonstrated.
“Jimmy’s form is up there with some of the best I’ve seen around the country at the moment,” Moyes said on Garner.
“He’s been excellent, and I hope that’s recognised because he’s playing at a really high level.”
