Conor Gallagher has already hailed ‘top’ Everton player as David Moyes eyes January transfer
Everton are set to flex their financial muscles in the January transfer window, and midfielder Conor Gallagher has emerged on their wish list.
It was announced in November 2025 that Everton received a cash influx of £107million from their majority shareholder, Roundhouse Holdings Limited, sparking excitement that the funds could be used to bolster their squad.
David Moyes wants to improve multiple areas of his squad, most notably at striker, even after Thierno Barry scored his first Premier League goal against Nottingham Forest.
Moyes is also aware that his side need a new left-back to challenge Vitalii Mykolenko, which is why Everton have shown an interest in Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, who left Goodison Park in 2019.
However, to truly challenge for the European positions in 2026, a new central midfielder is also being targeted.

What Conor Gallagher has said about Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Everton have a long-standing interest in Conor Gallagher, with Atletico Madrid willing to listen to offers for the 25-year-old.
A fee of £52m is being touted for the Englishman, and that means The Friedkin Group would have to break the bank to land his signature.
Gallagher has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants in 2025/26 and would form a mouth-watering partnership with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, someone he briefly crossed paths with at Chelsea.
Dewsbury-Hall joined the Blues in July 2024, and Gallagher praised the Everton man before he transferred to Atletico in August 2024.
“He’s a top player,” he told talkSPORT. “He had an incredible season last season, even when he played Chelsea at the Bridge [in the FA Cup], he was very good.
“I remember trying to get the ball off him and thinking he’s a good player.
“We’re really happy and delighted to have him at the club. I’m sure he’s going to be brilliant.”

Gallagher and Dewsbury-Hall would form incredible partnership
Dewsbury-Hall has been exceptional for Everton since joining for £28m in the summer, adding to his goal tally on Saturday with a strike against Nottingham Forest.
The 27-year-old has thrived in a deeper midfield role alongside James Garner, another talented Englishman, but the signing of Gallagher would take them to an even higher level.
Conor Gallagher’s career record
- 376 appearances
- 49 goals
- 47 assists
Known for his aggressive tackling and incredible engine from box-to-box, Gallagher could supply Moyes with more goals from central areas.
He scored five and assisted seven for Chelsea in the 2023/24 top-flight campaign, while showcasing his talent as one of the league’s best ball-winners.
With Dewsbury-Hall’s ball progression alongside the energy and quality of Gallagher, Everton would have a partnership that most teams would fear.
