‘One day’ – Carlo Ancelotti reveals when he will return to Everton in David Moyes admission
Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure at Everton was sandwiched between spells at Real Madrid and Napoli, but clearly made a big impact on the Italian manager.
Ancelotti left Everton in the summer of 2021, ending an 18-month stint at Goodison Park that saw the Toffees finish 12th and then 10th in the Premier League.
Since his departure over four years ago, the Toffees have seen Rafa Benitez, Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche all come and go, with David Moyes now at the helm.
Moyes has got the feel-good factor back at Everton in the first few months of his second spell in charge, with the Merseyside outfit currently sitting sixth in the Premier League.

Carlo Ancelotti ‘loved’ his time at Everton
It was something of a coup for the Toffees to convince Ancelotti to take charge back in December 2019, considering his esteemed reputation.
The 66-year-old, who is now the Brazil national team manager, boasts a CV that includes some of the biggest clubs in the world, but still remembers his time with Everton fondly.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Ancelotti said: “I loved the period at Everton. It was a difficult period because it was Covid, but I have a good memory of the environment there, and I am always looking for the Everton result.
Ancelotti also spoke about the current manager Moyes and his plans to visit Everton’s new stadium in the future.
He said: “I know that Moyes is doing a fantastic job. They have a new stadium, and one day I will be there to support Everton in their new stadium.”
David Moyes looking to eclipse Carlo Ancelotti at Everton
Everton’s last top-half Premier League finish came at the end of Ancelotti’s final season at the club, before he returned to Real Madrid.
Since then, the Toffees have been embroiled in multiple relegation battles, struggling towards the wrong end of the table.
However, Everton’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend has seen them rise up into the Premier League top six.
Under the stewardship of Moyes, there is no reason why the Merseyside outfit can’t achieve their first top-half finish since Ancelotti, and potentially even push for Europe.
