Everton’s James Garner PR push could mean one of two drastic realities
Everton’s social media team have been posting James Garner propaganda far more frequently than any other player in recent weeks.
Frank Lampard brought Garner to Everton in 2022, as the Toffees signed the midfielder from Manchester United in a £9million deal that could rise to £15m after add-ons.
The 24-year-old has shown progression during his time on Merseyside and has displayed impressive versatility qualities for the Blues.
Garner is a key player for Everton, no doubt about it, but his performances recently haven’t exactly set the world ablaze.
Everton lost 2-0 to Chelsea last time out in the Premier League, in a match where the Toffees’ midfield was run all over, making Garner’s recent PR backing seem intriguing.

Everton preparing for James Garner’s contract extension or sale
Garner signed on four year deal that will expire at the end of this season.
The Toffees are believed to have a one-year extension option in the midfielder’s contract, which they would most likely trigger if a sale were on the cards.
Aston Villa are one of the clubs interested in Garner, and concern is building over his Everton future.

As highlighted by Sofascore, Garner averages a rating of 7.12 in all competitions for the Toffees this season.
That is a decent return, but not at the level of the likes of Jack Grealish, who averages 7.34 in the Premier League.
Everton have been posting Garner on their social media a lot more than usual in recent weeks, and it seems like it could be to help build excitement over a potential new contract.
However, we all know how football works these days. Clubs understand the power of social media, and posting adverts of Garner will only add value to the midfielder’s price tag should clubs come calling in January.
Considering that Everton will miss out on maximum money due to the length of Garner’s current contract, they may be trying to pump up an asking price for the Englishman in any way they can.
Garner’s current wage details and potential demands
Garner signed for the Toffees at a relatively young age, meaning he and his agent were unable to demand a ludicrous weekly wage fee.
Fast forward a couple of years, and the versatile midfielder has a strong case to be on a lot more than what he currently gets paid.
Garner reportedly earns £30,000 a week, making him one of the lowest earners for the Blues.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the 24-year-old and his agent demand a wage in excess of £80,000 during negotiations, as it’s unclear whether an agreement will be reached at this stage.
