Carlo Ancelotti could get Everton wish sooner than expected as proposal made

Carlo Ancelotti recently shared his desire to return to Everton in order to take in the new stadium in person – and he may soon get his wish.

Legendary manager Ancelotti spent 18 months in charge of Everton, at which point the Merseysiders were at long-time home Goodison Park.

Ancelotti left Everton for Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 and spent four years back at the Bernabeu, before taking on the Brazil manager’s job earlier this year.

In an interview a couple of weeks ago, Ancelotti said he will be back at Everton “one day” in a supporter capacity.

But it may well be that he is in one of the managerial dugouts at Hill Dickinson Stadium instead before too long.

Everton hope to host Brazil fixtures at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Hill Dickinson Stadium is an award-winning venue and already feels like home to Everton fans, who are starting to make new memories away from Goodison.

Everton have a special display planned for the Arsenal game, with Hill Dickinson to get its first major fan display in what is the final game there this year.

Ancelotti will not be in attendance on Saturday, but he may well be before too long.

That is if a report by Paul Joyce for The Times is anything to go by, as Everton are said to have made a proposal for Brazil to play their European friendlies at Hill Dickinson in the future.

Why Everton could be fitting ‘home’ venue for Brazil

Brazil often play matches in Europe to cater for a large number of their players being on the continent, with Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and Liverpool’s Anfield just two such grounds used.

Given Anfield has hosted Brazil fixtures, there is no reason why Everton’s new state-of-the-art stadium cannot do likewise.

Brazil may well enjoy having a home away from home, and there are not many better choices than Hill Dickinson.

Whether as a one-off or a series of games, Ancelotti will be given a warm welcome if he returns to Everton with his Samba Boys.

And it will be another string in the bow for the claim of Everton now having one of the top venues anywhere on these shores.
