Chris Sutton reveals Everton ‘problem’ as scoreline predicted vs Burnley

Everton have a massive Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday.

David Moyes’ team will travel to Turf Moor on 27 December, with the Toffees hoping to get back to winning ways after back-to-back losses against Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Scottish manager has suffered a setback in the Blues’ bid to secure a European spot in the league table as they sit 10th.

Iliman Ndiaye’s absence at the Hill Dickinson Stadium was certainly a factor in the Merseyside outfit’s lack of creativity in the 1-0 loss against Arsenal, and the 62-year-old head coach needs to find a solution.

Everton draw vs Burnley predicted without Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Chris Sutton believes the Toffees’ “problem” is that they’re without Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The former Chelsea midfielder picked up an injury at Stamford Bridge, giving Moyes more headaches in addition to Idrissa Gueye leaving the Hill Dickinson Stadium to play at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Sutton doesn’t think the Light Blues will be able to get back to winning ways, with a 1-1 draw predicted for the clash at Turf Moor.

Writing in BBC Sport on 24 December, the former Norwich City forward said, “This is going to be a close game, too. Everton’s problem is that they are missing Ndiaye and Dewsbury-Hall, and they might have to settle for a point.”

Opta’s supercomputer expects Moyes to get three points against Burnley, but the trip to Lancashire will surely be challenging.

Scott Parker’s team are battling relegation, and they will surely be fighting for every ball at Turf Moor against the Merseysiders.

David Moyes season to disappoint if transfer priority ignored

Beto and Thierno Barry haven’t been reliable at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, with just two goals between the two in the Premier League.

Everton undoubtedly have no chance of achieving anything special without someone banging in the goals up top.

Signing a prolific number nine should be on the agenda for Moyes at the Blues in the winter transfer window.

If The Friedkin Group have any ambition, they’ll back the Scottish manager, but only time will tell whether the American owners will be willing to spend in January.
