Vitalii Mykolenko exit breaks down over latest refusal in Everton transfer talks

Everton have been snubbed as details of a potential exit for Vitalii Mykolenko come to light.

Mykolenko was a huge problem in Everton's 0-0 draw with Burnley last time out, and David Moyes should consider an upgrade.

Mykolenko has struggled to connect with Jack Grealish at Everton, to form a dangerous attacking partnership down the left flank.

His defensive frailties were on full display against the Clarets, and the Toffees had a potential opportunity to move him on, but they have blown it.

How Everton messed up potential Mykolenko exit

Mykolenko's Everton future is up in the air, with his contract on Merseyside expiring in the summer, and Galatasaray have reportedly tried to sign him.

A report from Ukrainian outlet Sport.ua on 30 December claims that there was contact between the Blues and Galatasaray over a potential deal.

However, it states that the Lions were not willing to pay the amount that the Blues demanded, and have walked away from negotiations.

Why Everton should sell Mykolenko - the evidence is clear

The Toffees cannot afford to be too stubborn when it comes to an exit for the left-back, if they want to progress in the near future.

He is far too inconsistent to start for a side that wants to challenge for European qualification like the Blues, and they need to move on from the former Dynamo Kyiv ace.

His defensive issues are bad enough, but the fact that he offers very little in attack makes it even worse for Moyes' side.

Defensively, he has won just 47 per cent of his duels on the ground, and he has the exact same success rate when it comes to aerial battles, per Sofascore.

The 26-year-old has not registered a single Premier League assist this season, and has created just one big chance, showing his ineffectiveness when his side have the ball.

The Merseysiders need a new option, someone who is capable in defence, and can help them drive forward and create chances, that is not Mykolenko, it never has been in his time on Merseyside.

A departure would be the best option for both parties, and the Friedkins cannot continue to price the defender out of a move.
