James Garner rises as Everton’s most valuable player as Iliman Ndiaye knocked off top spot

James Garner has been highly influential for Everton this season, and that has seen his market value reach new heights.

The midfielder signed a new deal at Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, quashing any fears David Moyes may have over losing him.

Garner looks set to stay as the Toffees’ midfield general for years to come, with his contract now lasting until 2030.

While that will not prevent any potential approaches or stop the Englishman’s head from turning, it does give the Blues a lot of wiggle room in rejecting any bids.

Now, Garner’s rise has become clear as he takes the top spot as Everton’s most valuable asset within their squad.

How much is James Garner worth now at Everton?

CIES Football Observatory is a renowned football research group and has become known for its transfer market valuations.

Over recent days, their model for player values has seen an update, which has brought on a shakeup at Everton as well.

According to the CIES Football Observatory’s fair market value index, Garner has now surged to the top as Everton’s most valuable player.

Garner is estimated to be worth between £44.3million and £52.2m according to the latest update.

Previously, this spot was held by winger Iliman Ndiaye, who had a maximum value touted to be around £52.7m.

So, with the 26-year-old having a larger value before Garner does now, it appears his figures have dropped.

That is, in large part, due to Ndiaye’s recent struggles in front of goal, while Garner continues to dominate in midfield.

The Senegalese winger has scored just three goals for Everton since December, making it clear as to why he may have seen a reduction in value.

Earlier in the season, Moyes was left in awe of the forward, stating his pass for Jack Grealish’s winner against Crystal Palace was an “unbelievable ball”.

His tanking in value will certainly not affect the opinion his manager has of him.

Where does James Garner rank across each Premier League club?

When it comes to Garner’s ranking among Premier League clubs, he places in 15th when compared to the other most-valuable players at each outfit.

In and around his range are Nottingham Forest’s Elliott Anderson (£49.6m to £57.4m) and West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes (£47.8m to £54.8m).

Another notable entrant with an Everton history is Moise Kean, who is estimated to be worth between £36.5m and £42.6m.

The Blues sold Kean for just £25m in 2023, and he has seemingly since risen in value out in Italy, and Everton may have some regret about letting Kean leave so early into his footballing career.
