Beto: David Moyes confirms Everton striker out vs West Ham, but Thierno Barry may not start
Beto will be unavailable for Everton due to a concussion against West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
David Moyes has confirmed that he’ll be without the in-form striker as the Toffees travel to London Stadium on 25 April.
The Scottish manager now wants to see Thierno Barry step up to the plate and possibly find the back of the net against the Hammers.
When asked whether the French youngster now has an opportunity to prove himself, the 62-year-old said, “If I choose to play him,” which may indicate that the former Villarreal star could potentially be out of the starting lineup.
Moyes has relied on Beto in recent matches, with the striker scoring in three consecutive league games, and he’ll certainly be a big miss against the Hammers.

David Moyes at risk of Everton disappointment vs West Ham
Speaking to the media on 24 April, Moyes said, “Beto has a concussion and will miss this week’s game.”
On Barry’s situation, the Scottish manager added, “I’ve got other people who could do it [play up front]. I could consider that.”
West Ham have everything to play for on Saturday as they look to extend their gap from the relegation zone, but the Toffees have set their sights on Europe.
For weeks now, fans in L3 have been confident about qualifying for any European competition ahead of next season, but dropping points at London Stadium would be a massive blow to those hopes.
| Premier League Table | Matches Played | Points |
| 5. Liverpool | 33 | 55 |
| 6. Brighton | 34 | 50 |
| 7. Bournemouth | 34 | 49 |
| 8. Chelsea | 34 | 48 |
| 9. Brentford | 33 | 48 |
| 10. Everton | 33 | 47 |
There have been spells during the campaign when Blues supporters have raised concerns over Moyes’ ability to make progress with the team, with some thinking a replacement in the dugout may be needed.
Brighton & Hove Albion and Bournemouth have climbed above the Merseyside outfit in the table and the Scottish manager risks undoing all the good work so far if he can’t end the season on a high.
David Moyes won’t be concerned about Jarrad Branthwaite injury
While Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury at Everton will undoubtedly dampen the mood in L3, Moyes has a capable deputy on his hands.
Michael Keane has partnered with James Tarkowski admirably for most of the season, and the English defender will likely be a key player until the end of the season.

The former Burnley star’s contribution in the current campaign have arguably gone under the radar and his contract extension was well deserved at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Moyes has a solid spine to count on at the Merseyside outfit and the Blues should have enough quality on the day to get the better of West Ham.
