Everton: Thierno Barry to take leaf out of Beto’s book after struggles under David Moyes
Everton have seen Beto’s grit and determination pay off in the Premier League this season.
The Guinea-Bissau striker was backup to Thierno Barry for most of the 2025-26 campaign, but has become an undisputed starter in recent weeks.
It looks like the former Udinese star has finally found his feet under David Moyes, who has been crying out for a reliable goalscorer.
The Scottish manager has revealed that the 28-year-old is keen to improve at the Toffees and consistently does extra work to get better.
Beto’s rise at Hill Dickinson Stadium can surely serve as an example for Barry, who should take a leaf out of his teammate’s book and work more on himself.

David Moyes gets massive boost vs Manchester City
Speaking to the media before facing Manchester City, Moyes said, “Even today, he’s always asking if he can do better. Other staff members work with him individually, as well, because that’s what he wants. He wants extra work, he wants to be better. It’s great when you work with people who are always trying to improve.”
Moyes will be able to call on Beto again after the striker missed the previous game at the London Stadium due to concussion protocol.
The Toffees lost 2-1 to West Ham United and will be desperate not to make it three in a row as Pep Guardiola’s team travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 4 May.

Barry struggled to make much of an impact in East London and the Guinea-Bissau attacker’s return will surely give the Scottish manager confidence in doing better against the Cityzens.
Beto has scored four goals in his last three Premier League appearances and fans in L3 will hope he can continue his fine form at home.
Thierno Barry in monumental moment at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Barry may already be fighting for his future at Everton after falling down the pecking order.
The Toffees spent big money to sign the French youngster from Villarreal last summer and they will certainly have massive hopes for him.

Ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, the Blues arguably need a new number nine capable of shouldering the goalscoring burden up top and improving depth in the number nine position.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Barry continue to get limited game time next season if he doesn’t put in the work over the coming months.
