Gabriel Sara can be the final piece to Everton jigsaw as transfer lined up

Gabriel Sara is said to be a target for Everton ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite a recent winless run, the Toffees remain in the hunt for European football ahead of the final three games of the season.

But regardless of the outcome of that, Everton are set for a busy summer transfer window, which will only be amplified if their ambitions are met.

David Moyes will be looking to strengthen several areas of his squad, with a keen emphasis on adding more quality to the midfield.

And with Sara linked with a move to Everton, he may have found the perfect option.

Stats show why Gabriel Sara is perfect for Everton

With Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and James Garner, Everton have two excellent options in the middle of the park, both playing different roles.

However, there is a distinct drop in quality when it comes to who plays alongside them, with it usually being either Idrissa Gueye or Tim Iroegbunam.

Both have enjoyed their fair share of moments this season, but it is without a doubt the main area that the Toffees could improve, and Sara would be perfect.

The Brazilian can contribute at both ends of the pitch, as showcased by the fact that he has 11 goal involvements across all competitions.

He is certainly best suited when going forward, but with Garner alongside him, it would give him the license to roam, which would see the Toffees reap rewards.

Only 2.2 per cent of midfielders in the Super Lig have created more chances than Sara this season, while no midfielder has completed more crosses than him.

How much would Everton have to pay for Sara?

When Galatasaray signed Sara from Norwich, it was believed to be for a fee in the region of £20million, with add-ons on top of that.

And given his performances since then, his value will have only increased.

While the Turkish giants’ asking price has not been revealed, it would be expected that Sara could cost upwards of £40m, especially given his contract length.

The 26-year-old is under contract until 2029, so while he is expected to leave, Galatasaray are under no pressure to sell.
