Everton eye Gabriel Sara deal as value could skyrocket with World Cup close
Everton reportedly remain interested in signing Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, whose valuation could be set to skyrocket.
Sara has previous experience of English football with Norwich City, where he was named Player of the Year in 2022-23.
That was one of two seasons the 26-year-old played at Carrow Road, accruing 85 Championship appearances in total.
He was also named in the EFL Team of the Season in 2024, shortly before making the switch to Galatasaray.
And there are now fresh suggestions that Everton want to sign Sara when the transfer window opens for business.

How much is Gabriel Sara worth right now?
Everton are no strangers to being linked with Sara, with talk emerging at the turn of the year that a deal could be on the cards.
Nothing happened in the winter window, however, and Sara’s valuation – rumoured to be around £17million at the time – has only increased.
| Gabriel Sara | Times used |
| Advanced central midfield | 15 |
| Pure central midfield | 2 |
| Defensive midfield | 12 |
That is due to the 5ft 10in ace earning his first senior cap for Brazil in March, which could in turn see him land a World Cup place.
As we know, any players who feature at the World Cup instantly add some money to their valuation – even more so when it is Brazil.
As per Turkish journalist Ali Naci Kucuk via 343, it looks likely that Sara will be leaving Galatasaray in the summer.
Everton are named as an interested party, as are fellow Premier League sides Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Kucuk adds that Gala are set to profit more if Sara does indeed make Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad.
Arsenal have also been linked, but this report suggests they are not looking to make a move.
Everton could get themselves a three-in-one midfielder in Sara
As can be seen in the table higher up this page, Sara is a very versatile central midfielder.
He has played 15 times in a more advanced position, 12 times in a defensive role and two times in between as a pure central midfielder.
Sara has scored five times and assisted four more in the Super Lig this season, showing he clearly has a knack for attacking.
Given he has also played fairly regularly in the Champions League, these links with numerous Premier League teams make sense.
The only fear is that his valuation will increase more and more, especially if he is at the World Cup, so Everton will have to be ready to pounce if they are indeed interested.
