David Moyes gets unlikely GQ treatment as Everton boss dazzles on touchline vs Man City

David Moyes is not known for his fashion sense, but he clearly caught the eye in Everton‘s dramatic 3-3 draw with Manchester City.

The Scotsman was ultimately disappointed come full time as Everton chucked away a late 3-1 lead to squander two points.

Monday’s match would have attracted an even larger audience than usual given the magnitude of the contest on the Premier League title race.

While Moyes would have been thanked by Arsenal fans, it appears his showing on the night went beyond just football.

On the back of Everton’s draw with Man City, the Toffees boss even got a mention in men’s fashion and lifestyle magazine GQ.

‘David Moyes matches Pep Guardiola in fashion stakes’

GQ tends to be reserved for the more suave figures, including someone like Man City boss Pep Guardiola.

But Moyes got a mention in an article on the online edition on Wednesday because of a “classy” Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch he was spotted wearing.

This is despite, as the article states, Everton being sponsored by British watchmaker Christopher Ward.

Moyes is said to have held his own against opposite number Guardiola in the watch stakes, as well as matching the Catalonian on the field.

Royal Oaks are also said to be favoured by the likes of Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk.

More important matters for Moyes as Everton make history

Moyes may have made an appearance in this men’s fashion bible, but he will have bigger matters on his mind this week.

Ultimately, a 3-3 draw for Everton against title-chasing City is not a bad result at all. However, the manner of the collapse was a concern.

When you also factor in the late 2-1 losses against West Ham and Liverpool, Everton are the first side in Premier League history to concede match-altering goals in the 90th-minute in three successive games.

Everton have waved goodbye to five vital points across those three games, which is the difference between their current standing of 10th and sixth place.

The good news is that there are still three games to put things right, with European football not entirely out of the question just yet.
