Jordan Pickford makes Everton plea after draw vs Crystal Palace
Jordan Pickford wants Everton to give it one last “final push” after the Toffees’ 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
David Moyes‘ men were left frustrated at Selhurst Park on Sunday, having twice taken the lead only to be pegged back twice.
James Tarkowski scored the Everton opener after just six minutes, but Palace levelled before half-time through Ismaila Sarr.
Beto restored Everton’s advantage just minutes into the second half, only for Jean-Philippe Mateta to equalise for the Eagles once again with a little under 15 minutes to play.
As such, Everton are now five games without a win in the Premier League, and have seen their push for European football halted as a result.

What did Jordan Pickford say after Crystal Palace?
Pickford’s recent form has been criticised, with the usually reliable England international putting in some out of character performances over the past few games.
Indeed, ahead of Sunday’s match with Crystal Palace, the 32-year-old had conceded nine goals in the Toffees’ last four league games.
| Pickford’s ratings in last five PL games | Rating |
| Vs Crystal Palace | 8.3/10 |
| Vs Man City | 5.7/10 |
| Vs West Ham | 6.2/10 |
| Vs Liverpool | 6.3/10 |
| Vs Brentford | 6.0/10 |
However, the Three Lions star came roaring back at Selhurst Park despite conceding twice, as if it wasn’t for his six saves, Moyes’ side would have fallen to defeat in the capital.
Pickford and his comrades must now gather themselves for two massive final games against Sunderland and Tottenham respectively, as they know that perhaps nothing less than six points will be enough to see them qualify for Europe.
Taking to Instagram after the Palace draw, Pickford sent a rallying cry to both his teammates and the Toffees faithful ahead of a make or break couple of weeks.

“Busy week at home and away. Final push in the last two Toffees,” he said.
Pickford needs more help from Everton defence
When a team is routinely conceding an unhealthy number of goals, as Everton are at the moment, it can be easy to simply throw the book at the goalkeeper.
However, it’s often not as simple as that, and it isn’t in the Toffees’ case over these last few weeks.
Everton let Crystal Palace take 21 shots on their goal on Sunday, Man City had the same amount on 4 May and West Ham were able to register 10 attempts as well.

Liverpool had 14 efforts on the Everton goal, whilst Brentford took 17, and the last time the Toffees held a side to under 10 shots on goal in a single game being against Burnley on 3 March (five).
So, whilst Pickford has been underperforming in recent times, if his comrades ahead of him can make it far more taxing for opposition sides to reach his goal, that would be a huge help to his form as well.
