Everton tipped to battle Liverpool for Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski as offers made

Everton and Liverpool have been suggested to fight among other clubs for Robert Lewandowski, who has already received offers ahead of an expected Barcelona exit this summer.

The legendary striker is still one of the best finishers in world football, but looks set to depart Barca once his contract expires this summer.

He will be a free agent, and having never tested himself in the Premier League, the Polishman may be up for one last big challenge.

The 37-year-old has netted a remarkable 18 times in all competitions this season, and it could be the first time in 15 seasons that he fails to reach 20 goals in a single campaign.

Everton want to sign a striker this summer, and David Moyes would be more than happy to welcome someone with the world-class quality of Lewandowski, even if it was just for one season.

Don Hutchinson moots Everton to sign Robert Lewandowski

The priority at Everton this summer is a striker, make no mistake about it, and this comes conveniently after Beto’s recent transfer admission.

The 28-year-old admitted that he is unsure about his future at Hill Dickinson, as the arrival of another centre-forward would likely mean he or Thierno Barry would need to leave.

Lewandowski joining the Toffees would certainly be one of the biggest transfer shocks of all time, but we have seen the Blues pull off some rather bizarre additions in the past.

Taking to X on Wednesday, ex-Everton star Don Hutchinson suggested that Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Aston Villa would all look to sign the Barca hitman for free this summer.

Hutchinson wrote: “I wonder if Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, and Villa would all look to take Lewandowski on a free.”

Everton have been linked with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and other big names in recent months, but Lewandowski’s name may top the lot.

But when you think about it, the thought of the veteran having the chance to be the first-choice striker of an ambitious Premier League club, it could appeal to him as something to try before retiring.

Offers have already been made to Lewandowski

A move would largely depend on what Lewandowski wants and how long he thinks he realistically has left in the game.

The former Borussia Dortmund number nine has reportedly been offered a £78million per year deal by Saudi giants Al Hilal, according to Polish outlet, Przeglad Sportowy.

He also has offers on the table from MLS clubs, but these could still be opportunities for him to explore in a year’s time.

It could all depend on how he feels physically, and whether he knows if he’d regret passing up the chance to play one season in the Premier League.
