Beto’s transfer admission should ring alarm bells at Everton as behind-the-scenes issue made clear

Beto has revealed that he isn’t sure what happens next at Everton, with a possible summer exit looming.

David Moyes is believed to be wanting a new striker this summer, which would make things complicated for Beto and Thierno Barry.

The Everton boss plays one number nine at all times, as another centre-forward would make things too crowded for somebody.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Beto admitted that he’s not sure what happens beyond this season regarding his future at Hill Dickinson.

That should ring alarm bells for the Toffees, as the Friedkin Group may want to sell the 28-year-old this summer.

Friedkin Group risk sad Beto exit

Moyes will be in close contact with the Friedkin Group over transfers, with both incomings and outgoings expected in Merseyside.

Beto has clearly not been given any assurances behind the scenes and looks to be open to trying a new challenge, should he not receive promises from the Blues.

Beto in PL this season

Communication was clearly an issue with the Friedkin Group in January, who failed to get Moyes a new striker.

Any possible Barry or Beto departure may only come once a new forward is brought to the club, which could spark a bitter end to the players’ respective relationships with the Toffees.

Dan Friedkin’s group aren’t exactly renowned for great timing about transfers.

It’s already been suggested that one of Barry or Beto will need to leave Everton if they sign a new goal grabber, but who will go will be up for debate.

Everton should keep Beto for one more season, not offer him a new deal

Beto has previously spent plenty of time on Everton’s bench, but recent performances are proving the need to start him over Barry.

Regardless, the Blues have seen a purple patch from the former Udinese star before, and will be keen to add a top-class number nine to their ranks this summer.

Given the heat regarding Barry and Everton fans in recent weeks, it could be wise for two reasons to loan him out, with one being the fact that the Frenchman isn’t up to speed in the Premier League just yet.

Beto’s deal will expire at the end of next season, so promising him one more year at Hill Dickinson should be on the agenda before a well-timed exit for both parties.
