Everton: David Moyes to be at front of queue to send Pep Guardiola farewell wishes as one sided dominance clear
Everton manager David Moyes may be one of the most delighted bosses in the Premier League to see the back of Pep Guardiola.
The Manchester City manager has confirmed that he is to step down at the end of the season, ending a 10-year stint at the Etihad.
Guardiola has held quite a domination over the English top flight, winning six Premier League titles over his spell.
City has often been a tough opponent for the Toffees, and the Blues faced heartbreak against them just a few weeks ago in the 3-3 draw.
When it comes to Everton against Man City, and more particularly Moyes versus Guardiola, the Scotsman will be excited to see him leave, and here is why.

Why David Moyes will be delighted to see Pep Guardiola leave Man City
Guardiola is one of the best managers of all time, and it would be silly to suggest otherwise. His trophy cabinet speaks for itself.
When it comes to the fellow managers that Guardiola has faced most in his career, Moyes comes in at sixth place with 19 matches.
| Pep Guardiola’s most faced managers | Games played |
| Jurgen Klopp | 30 |
| Mauricio Pochettino | 25 |
| Jose Mourinho | 25 |
| Eddie Howe | 23 |
| Sean Dyche | 19 |
| David Moyes | 19 |
However, across those fixtures, the Everton boss has struggled immensely to pull in results. Guardiola has averaged 2.42 points per game against the Scotsman.
Those matches have come across varying competitions and with multiple clubs, such as Manchester United, Sunderland, West Ham and, of course, Everton.
Guardiola will, however, bow out with an invincible record in the Premier League against the 63-year-old, with Moyes’ only win against the Spanish manager arriving at West Ham.
This came in a 5-3 win in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in 2021-2022. So, it is safe to say that Guardiola has been a nightmare for Moyes.

Why Moyes may not feel so relieved with Enzo Maresca set to take over at Manchester City
Enzo Maresca is the reported replacement for Guardiola at Manchester City, and that may not provide much relief for the Everton boss.
The pair have only faced off on two occasions when he was at Chelsea, but it is the Italian that comes out on the positive side of this battle.
Maresca has won both of those ties, the first being a 1-0 home win and the second a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Hopefully, when it is all said and done, Maresca does not end up with a similar record to Guardiola against Moyes.
It would be a good start if Everton backed Moyes after his latest transfer message.
