James Garner to be unleashed at Everton after England snub comments

James Garner should be even better for Everton next season after he missed out on the England squad.

The Blues star was a contender for Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad but was not selected for the tournament.

The Birkenhead-born ace was named as Everton’s Player’s Player of the Season in the end-of-season awards ceremony, but his form was not enough to convince the Three Lions boss.

He has now revealed his thoughts on the snub, and he will surely be unleashed by David Moyes after his reaction.

Everton fans will be relishing the idea of an improved Garner, as he was already top-quality this season.

Garner admitted that while it is his dream to play for his country at the biggest tournament in the game, he will use his omission as motivation.

The midfielder said: “Getting a taste of it for the first time was a dream come true for me.

“There have been a lot of top players who have missed out in this squad, so I’m pretty sure there are others in my position who had hoped to go.

“Of course, it’s any boy’s dream – but it is what it is and I’ll keep going. It’s only going to motivate me more.”

Why it should benefit Everton

The last line should be of most interest to Toffees’ supporters, as he admitted that it will only motivate him further.

That means that he will be focused on improving even more, to make an impression on Tuchel, which should benefit the Blues in the immediate future.

He will surely try to add more goals and assists to his game, and that can only be a good thing for Moyes and Co, as they need more contributions from midfield.

While they would have wanted him to get the recognition that he deserved, Garner’s omission may well be the best outcome for the L3 outfit.

A new, more dangerous Garner could be unleashed next season, his comments suggest that he will be trying his best to prove that Tuchel was wrong to dismiss him from contention for the competition in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Blues supporters will be hoping that he can do so, as it will help their chances of securing European football at the end of the season, something which they failed to do this season.
