Arthur Atta has just greenlit his own Everton transfer amid £26m development

Arthur Atta has been linked with a move to Everton ahead of the summer transfer window – and it is a move the Toffees simply need to make happen.

The Udinese midfielder stood out in Serie A this season, as his side secured a 10th-place finish.

Everton themselves are looking for a reset over the summer, after missing out on European football during the run-in.

After putting themselves in a strong position before the international break, the Toffees endured a run of just three points from the remaining seven, seeing them finish 13th.

Now, with Atta linked with a move to the Toffees, the Frenchman has provided plenty of reasons as to why a club should snap him up this summer.

Arthur Atta shares exactly what he could offer Everton

Joining on loan from Metz in 2024, Atta would make the move permanent in the summer of 2025.

At the base of midfield, the 23-year-old scored five times and registered three assists in Serie A this term.

The I Paper reports that Fulham had a £17million bid rejected by Udinese in January, while Everton have joined the pursuit, with the demand sitting at around £26m.

Speaking to the outlet amid that interest, the midfielder – who is rather unique given he was once a goalkeeper – discussed his style of play.

“I’m a player who likes to have the ball in the build-up, to be close to goal, to give my team-mates good balls, create space for teammates and also move a lot to disturb the opponents,” he said, essentially describing what would be the perfect midfield player.

“I have physical and athletic qualities that could be useful in the Premier League,” he added.

“I’m a creative player who can also make a difference one against one. All these things could make me a success in England.”

At 23, the midfielder is clearly confident in his abilities and gave an update on a potential switch to the Premier League.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world,” he said. “If I were to say otherwise, it would be a lie. It is a league that everyone would like to be playing in one day.”

There is still room for development given his age, with Everton potentially a club that can harness his abilities.

On the basis of what Atta’s said, and the reported interest from Everton, this is a deal that simply needs to happen.

But what about Everton’s other young talents?

One of the biggest frustrations surrounding David Moyes this term has been his reluctance to make use of the younger squad members.

Tyler Dibling and Merlin Rohl have both struggled for minutes since signing last summer, alongside January arrival Tyrique George.

Harrison Armstrong has seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth, while Adam Aznou has not been handed any trust at the first-team level.

Atta is clearly a confident midfielder who stressed his love for Udinese, thanks to the time they spent developing him. Still, this exact confidence is something Moyes has stripped from multiple individuals this term.

Sticking with his favoured players, he has remained stubborn with his selection, while the Blues suffered in the latter weeks of the season as a result.

Supporters at Hill Dickinson Stadium would love a project to get behind with a younger core on the pitch, though, whether Moyes himself wants that is a completely different story.
