Everton want Morten Hjulmand as Sporting agreement over exit to be facilitated
Everton are seemingly focusing on their midfield in the summer transfer window with Morten Hjulmand emerging as a name.
The Blues have been linked with plenty of central midfielders since the end of the season, with Hayden Hackney the most advanced of any deal.
Hackney’s preference is to move to Hill Dickinson Stadium, and work will likely be underway as to agreeing to a deal with Middlesbrough.
However, as stated, Hackney is not the only name on the list, with Hjulmand a firm contender according to reports.
Ahead of Everton’s summer transfer window, it has also been shared that an agreement has been reached with Sporting to allow the 27-cap Danish international to leave.

What agreement has been made with Sporting and Hjulmand?
Hjulmand is a key player for Sporting, and the Dane has often attracted transfer interest throughout his career.
In the winter window, it was as rife as ever, but Sporting insisted only a triggering of his €80million (£69million) release clause would allow him to leave, according to A Bola.
| Hjulmand for Sporting | Total |
| All-time appearances | 141 |
| Goals | 10 |
| Assists | 12 |
| Trophies | 3 |
Now, the Portuguese outlet has shared that Hjulmand reached an agreement with Sporting to facilitate his exit in the summer window.
Interested parties can land the 26-year-old for half of that price at £34.5m.
Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have been named as potential destinations, but A Bola also reported that “Everton has the Dane in its sights.”
It remains to be seen if Hjulmand is only appreciated by the Toffees or if he is rather a concrete target for the Merseyside club.
However, if David Moyes wants to land the Danish international, he may have to be quick to agree to a deal amid that interest from the Madrid giants as Everton should focus on making early deals.

What type of player is Morten Hjulmand?
Hjulmand is a defensive midfielder who never really ventures further than outside the 18-yard box.
The Dane is strong in his duels, winning an impressive 68 per cent of all his battles according to Sofascore.
Additionally, his 91 per cent pass accuracy shows he is safe in possession, but his 64 per cent long passing accuracy shows he is capable of hitting those harder and riskier passes.
Hjulmand is a ball-winning midfielder, recovering the ball 6.1 times on average per game, while also making 2.1 tackles per game.
Everton would be landing a quality midfielder if they moved forward with their interest.
