Shea Charles’ season for Southampton has put him on the radar of many clubs in England, and that includes Everton.
The midfield department appears to be a priority for the Toffees amid news that the Blues are the favourites and leading contenders to sign Hayden Hackney.
Hackney, who won the Championship’s player of the season award, has had a breakout year in the second tier of English football.
It remains to be seen if the Englishman is the only midfield arrival for Everton, but the L3 outfit would be wise to not stop there.

After Southampton were kicked out of the Championship play-off final, ultimately ending their hopes of a Premier League return, it opened the door for many of their players to leave.
Everton have been mentioned as destinations for quite a few, including winger Leo Scienza and now Charles.

With Idrissa Gueye’s contract still up in the air, and Tim Iroegbunam’s future at Everton in doubt, signing two midfielders will be needed.
Having a trio of options in James Garner, Hackney and Charles would be a workhorse midfield that could cover plenty of ground for Moyes.

The latest information emerging from the Daily Mail suggests the Saints will be looking for a minimum of £30million.
However, his contract is set to expire in the summer of 2027, so perhaps the Toffees could use that to their advantage to negotiate a deal.
Additionally, with the allure of Premier League football, the Northern Irishman could push for a move away too.
