Everton can sign Rennes midfielder Amir Richardson at a discounted fee in the coming days if they act quickly.

L’Equipe claimed on 7 August that the Ligue 1 side were looking at a fee north of £10million to part ways with the 22-year-old.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio reported only a day later that Reims have agreed to sell the Morocco international for only £8.5million - a discounted price of £1.5million.

That said, the agreement is with Fiorentina and not the Toffees so it's time the latter make their interest substantiated and table a bid for the midfielder.

Everton must table a transfer bid for Amir Richardson

To get ahead of Fiorentina, the Toffees must act swiftly and decisively as signing a midfielder is paramount.

The club needs to approach Rennes with a competitive bid that matches or exceeds Fiorentina's offer.

Everton should also ensure that the terms of the deal are attractive to both Rennes and the player, potentially including performance-related bonuses and a clear pathway for Richardson's development within the team.

The Merseyside outfit can also leverage their historical reputation and the allure of the Premier League to sway Richardson's decision.

The club should highlight the potential for increased exposure and the chance to compete in one of the world's most prestigious leagues.

Playing in the Premier League is certainly a more glamorous prospect than representing a mid-table Serie A club.
