Everton: Takeover 'mess' continues as unanswered Farhad Moshiri question raised

777 Partners are still waiting for approval from the Premier League to complete their takeover of Everton, but questions have been asked of Farhad Moshiri amid the latest "mess", according to Andy Hunter.

The Guardian journalist shared via the website on 18 February that Moshiri is yet to answer why he remains committed to the 777 bid when there is interest from elsewhere amid all the delays.

With 156 days having passed since Moshiri accepted 777's offer for his 94.1% share in the club, the bid is still awaiting Premier League approval, while it took just 51 days for Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Manchester United takeover to receive approval.

The point raised by Hunter is a strong one. If there is supposed interest in Everton from other sources, why has Moshiri remained intent on 777 Partners being the ones to complete their takeover?

Especially given the seemingly endless list of concerns surrounding the group, with protests from the fanbases of other 777-owned clubs, and an ongoing court case in the U.S.A., the delays over the takeover would surely be enough cause for concern at this stage.

The most recent update emerging from the Premier League was that 777 are becoming frustrated as a result of recent delays, having been asked to provide further proof of funding amid doubts which have emerged.

If they do not receive the all-clear, Everton will find themselves back to square one, with the search for a new bidder likely to begin again and then the wait for the owners and directors test outcome to follow.
