Friedkin to finalise final Everton takeover paperwork - Henry Winter Exclusive

Henry Winter believes that the Friedkin Group's Everton takeover is set to be completed in the near future with paperwork being the final issue.

The US-based group spearheaded by Dan Friedkin have received the Premier League's approval to progress with their deal for the Blues. [Sky Sports]

Farhad Moshiri finally looks set to depart the club as the Friedkin's acquire his 94.1 per cent shareholding and complete a deal which was agreed in September.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Winter gave an update on the progress of the takeover, saying: "The Everton deal is not quite done yet but it's obviously very close."

"There is always a little bit of paperwork, legalities to sort out but you can see why Everton fans are celebrating this closing-in by the Friedkin Group."

Everton supporters set for major boost

The takeover has been slowly progressing in the background for months and Toffees supporters were getting frustrated with the length of time that it has taken to be completed.

However, the deal looks set to be finalised in the near future which is a huge boost for Sean Dyche's side on the pitch and off it.

The Blues can enter a new era under the Friedkin Group after a tumultuous time under the control of Moshiri where the club was constantly fighting against relegation.

The new ownership will be forced to decide on Dyche's future with unrest surrounding his position in the dugout at Goodison Park.

They will also have to plan for the transfer window in January, which will be an exciting prospect for Blues supporters.

With the Toffees set to move into their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next season, the club seems to be on the up.

In other Everton news, the all-clear for the takeover could come as early as next week.
