Goodison Park sale update at Everton after new developments

Everton have no prospect of raising significant windfall from Goodison Park, which is not for sale, according to ESPN.

The sports broadcaster has reported that cash-strapped Everton are committed to transforming Goodison Park into a community hub ahead of their move to Bramley Moore Dock, with the stadium's location a stumbling block for any potential buyers.

Goodison Park therefore will not be sold by the club as they look to fund, among other things, the completion of their new stadium - where they will move for the 2025-26 season.

Everton must make up numbers without Goodison Park sale

Everton have seen their fortunes on the pitch turn in recent weeks, winning four games from their last five, all at Goodison Park, to clamber 11 points clear of the relegation zone and secure Premier League safety.

Off the pitch, however, the situation remains a dire one. 777 Partners' takeover still looks no closer to fruition, with the Miami-based investment fund unable to provide proof they have the capital to complete a full buyout of the club.

Their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, which has been hit by the costly setbacks of both the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's war in Ukraine, looks no closer to being completed, leaving its status and fate, and that of Goodison Park, in limbo.

Everton selling Goodison has never been an option though, with the historic home of the club always set to be remembered, regardless of where the Toffees play their football.

Goodison's raucous, intimidating atmosphere and presence has helped Everton get over the line in the Premier League relegation battle, something which cannot keep happening.
