Jarell Quansah is understood to be happy to join Everton as an update emerges on the Liverpool defender.

David Moyes will be keen to build on the progress he has made so far since he returned to Everton, especially as the Toffees move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

Therefore, the 61-year-old is expected to hold talks with the Friedkin Group about Everton's summer transfer plans. One area which is likely to need strengthening is the defence, and it looks as though Liverpool defender Quansah could be the solution.

Liverpool stance on Quansah transfer emerges

A host of first-team players at Goodison Park are out of contract at the end of the season, including Michael Keane, who is expected to leave Everton.

In addition, the future of Jarrad Branthwaite remains unclear. Therefore, it looks as though a new centre-back might be needed, as an update emerges on Quansah.

As reported by CaughtOffside (16 April), Liverpool are understood to be willing to sell Quansah this summer.

The Reds would be open to a permanent sale should they receive an offer in the region of £30million.

Everton, Newcastle United, Bournemouth, and Brentford are all considering making an offer for the 22-year-old, although Liverpool aren't thought to be keen on doing business with the Toffees.

However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - doesn't see this being a problem, and believes Quansah's preference would be to join Everton should he leave Liverpool.

"This wouldn't be the first time a Liverpool player has joined Everton," King said.

"Therefore, I couldn't see that being a problem, and I think Liverpool will sell to the club that makes them the best offer. In addition, I'd imagine Quansah would be quite happy to move across Stanley Park.

"He is probably already living in the Liverpool area. Therefore, a move to Everton wouldn't cause him or his family too many problems."

Quansah would be a smart signing at Everton

At the age of 22, Quansah still has plenty of time to develop.

Therefore, this could be an exciting signing for the future, and considering Quansah is already familiar with the area, it likely wouldn't take him long to settle at Everton.

As a result, this could be a smart signing if a deal can be agreed with Liverpool.
