Jarrad Branthwaite exit on cards at Everton in January in new takeover verdict
Dan Plumley has admitted that he could picture Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite moving to Manchester United in January, regardless of the impending takeover.
The football finance expert insists that's how the market works, with the Red Devils holding a degree of power, although The Friedkin Group confirming its takeover before January could help the Toffees.
Everton cannot currently afford to offer Branthwaite new terms at Goodison Park, with Manchester United considering a fresh move for the England international [Sami Mokbel].
"It could certainly," Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.
"It's always negotiations, so even if the takeover is through and cleared and they potentially don't feel the need to sell in January, that may or may not make a blind bit of difference to Manchester United to go in for that player.
"United will still feel in that regard that there is a degree of power at their end as well in terms of drawing that player into Manchester United, particularly with his potential as well.

"There's the player side of that as well, but from a financial point of view, the simple way of looking at it is if the takeover is still up in the air, there's a bit more pressure on Everton to potentially sell in January, if the takeover is done and dusted that pressure may go away a little bit.
"I do think in either of those scenarios, we could still see a player like Branthwaite leave in January, it's just the market and if a club like Manchester United do come in, and that is where he may want to go, that is just what happens."
It will be interesting to see what Freidkin potentially makes of this, with his takeover said to have hit a small sticking point in the United States [Josimar].
With the American said to have sanctioned a loan exit for Beto already in January [Calciomercato], he is having early influence at Goodison Park, so he would want a say in this matter regardless.
