Jim White shares what someone has now told him about Everton takeover latest

Jim White has shared information he has been told about Andy Bell and George Downing with regards to the Everton takeover situation.

The journalist and presenter was talking about the drawn-out takeover situation live on talkSPORT on Wednesday [7 August, 11:55]

White stated that Bell and Downing have no intention of reigniting their interest in purchasing the club from Farhad Moshiri.

This comes after Dan Friedkin's proposed takeover of the Toffees fell through over a month ago.

"Someone told me that Andy Bell and George [Downing] are out and are not interested in coming back," White said.

Everton need to finalise takeover as soon as possible

In what seems to be one of the most dominating stories over the past few seasons, Everton still haven't managed to find a suitable owner.

Moshiri has had the club up for sale for what seems like an eternity and has yet to push through a deal, despite many deals seemingly being extremely close.

Just when fans think a deal is nearing completion, something always falls through.

Whilst the change of ownership hasn't affected the Toffees much in this transfer window, it remains to be seen how much more money Moshiri will put into the club as the season goes on.

So, in reality, Everton need to finalise a deal as soon as possible in order to ensure the club's future.

Whilst the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jake O'Brien arriving will no doubt help their on-the-pitch conquests, they need further support for other things such as their new stadium and their academy, to name just two aspects.

Downing and Bell had emerged as some of the main contenders to take over but now those rumours have been quashed, it remains to be seen who will take the lead next.
