Sky Sports journalist makes £20m Everton transfer claim and details Frank Lampard stance
Everton are reportedly not in a financial position to go out and spend £20million to address four or five areas this summer.
According to Sky Sports journalist Ben Grounds, Frank Lampard will look to use the loan market and his contacts at Chelsea to get deals over the line.
It's also understood that he will not restrict his search based on the approval of the fans either.
Via his personal Twitter account, Grounds wrote, "Everton aren’t in a position where they can fork out £20m plus on around 4/5 areas that need improvement so using the loan market and Chelsea contacts is certainly an avenue Lampard will be exploring. He won’t limit his search based on fan approval, either."
Makes sense
We will not be surprised if Lampard turns to Chelsea to sign one or two of their players on loan and that will not be the worst thing in the world.
They have one of the best academies in Europe and constantly send their youngsters and fringe players out on loan to develop.
He could also use his personal connections with players and that might get certain deals over the line.
Everton remain in a financial crisis but they cannot do with Lampard what they did with Rafa Benitez last summer and not give him anything to spend.
Rebuilding this squad is not going to be easy as it is but without any funds, it becomes almost impossible and another manager could lose his job because of the poor running of the club.
