The Friedkin Group reportedly want to double their money on any potential Everton sale.

It was revealed earlier this week that the Friedkins have put Everton on the open market.

The American-based group have admitted that they are seeking fresh investment in the football club.

However, they've also revealed they'd be willing to hand over full control of Everton if the right buyer was found.

It marks a major twist in their Toffees tale, as many believed they'd be in it for the long haul upon taking over the club back in December 2024.

And in a fresh development on Sunday, it's been reported just how much TFG are looking to recoup if they do indeed sell the football club.

Why David Moyes situation could help push through Everton sale

Alan Nixon has reported via his Patreon that the Americans are looking for north of £1billion in any Everton sale.

If they get this, that would see them double their money on their original investment cost when purchasing the Toffees.

Everton boss David Moyes is out of contract at the end of this season, but this may be no bad thing in relation to a potential sale.

Nixon claims that Moyes being out of contract may help attract a prospective buyer who has their own choice of manager in mind.

It's stated that Moyes' exit from Hill Dickinson Stadium is "almost certain" over the coming months, with Celtic mooted as long-term admirers.

But what does this fresh price tag reveal mean for Amanda Staveley's prospects of purchasing Everton?

Why TFG may have missed the mark with Everton asking price

Goodison News has been following Staveley's reported interest in an Everton investment since the beginning.

Staveley left her role as co-owner and director of Newcastle in July 2024, selling her and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi's remaining six per cent share.

The 53-year-old has been heavily linked with getting involved at Everton over recent weeks, but this may no longer be viable.

Nixon claims that TFG's asking price of over £1bn could be too steep for many prospective buyers.

The report claims that Staveley and her group of potential investors are not showing any live interest in a Toffees takeover.

On top of this, Nixon also suggests that Arabian money has seemingly "dried up" too, possibly shrinking the candidate pool even further.

So, unless TFG lower their asking price, it may take quite some time to sell Everton, which could plant the seeds for further fan unrest towards them.
