Armando Broja 'could return to Chelsea' after injury setback - Everton Expert

Bryan King claims Armando Broja could return to Chelsea after yet another Everton injury setback.

The ex-Goodison scout sympathises with the striker who has suffered constant injury setbacks since joining the Toffees on loan from Chelsea.

David Moyes confirmed after the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa at Goodison Park on Wednesday (15 January) that Broja will be sidelined for 10-12 weeks.

Therefore, King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - expects that the Albanian could be sent back to Stamford Bridge early.

"Moyes needs players that he feels are good enough for the football club," King said.

"Unfortunately for Broja, and Everton and Moyes, this is a player who can't be used. In 12 weeks we will be in April, and the season will nearly be over. This is when you need players available.

"What can Moyes do, this player is now injured. It looks like he could now return to Chelsea. It is never good for players to arrive at a new club and suffer from constant injuries. That is one of the sad parts of football."

Everton loanee Armando Broja to return to Chelsea?

At this point, it would probably be best for Broja to head back to West London.

If he isn't going to be available until the end of the season, there is no point in Everton continuing to pay his wages, and Broja should instead focus on his recovery at his parent club.

The 23-year-old's move to Goodison Park hasn't worked out. However, that is no fault of the striker.

As for Everton, if Broja is sent back to Chelsea, it will highlight the need for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to stay put, at least until the summer.

That would mean any potential move in January would be off the cards.
