Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko injury claim shared as footage emerges v Liverpool
Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko may have aggravated his ankle injury by playing on against Liverpool, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert gauged the footage that emerged from the Merseyside derby which showed a clear spain to his ankle.
Sean Dyche confirmed that it was a ligament injury and that he would not be returning again this season.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Mykolenko:
"With ankle inversion sprains, the video often doesn’t tell the story.
"Therefore, you have to rely on your testing and how the player is feeling.
"Additionally, it was also a key game so that does come into the equation but he could've aggravated it further.
"However, it looked pretty nasty on initial viewing so I’m not surprised he was out for a number of weeks subsequently."

Mykolenko has been one of the Toffees' best players this season and did his job in helping the club avoid relegation.
Amid the chaos going on behind the scenes, it was important for Dyche to have a group of players he could rely on unconditionally.
Mykolenko's absence will give Ashley Young a chance to prove his worth at left-back, but come the start of next season, the Ukrainian is expected to be the first choice again.
