Turkish side Besiktas are plotting a summer move for Everton striker Cenk Tosun, according to Sabah.

The Turkey international was linked with a Goodison Park exit this summer as well, but a move away from the club failed to materialise.

Given the fact that his deal runs out in the summer and that he's on 'high-cost' contract at the club, the Champions League outfit would prefer signing him on a free at the end of the season.

Time to go

Tosun arrived at Everton with some promise and he seemed like the player to address the club's attacking woes.

After impressing at Besiktas with impressive goal-scoring numbers, the Toffees took a punt on a player unproven in the Premier League, and it's fair to say that the gamble has not paid off.

He's been at the club since 2018 and has still not hit double figures for goals, which shows just how woeful his time on Merseyside has been.

However, he failed to impress at the London club as well which suggests that he's not best suited for life in the Premier League.

The Toffees will have one last chance to cash in on him in January, but looking at the minuscule interest in his services, a summer exit seems to be the most plausible scenario.
