Bryan King claims Dan Friedkin is a fan of former Everton manager David Moyes.

The ex-Goodison scout, who worked alongside Moyes, feels that the Scot would be returning to find the club in a similar position as when he first took over.

As reported by Graeme Bailey via Everton News (24 September), Moyes is the favourite to take over at Goodison Park should Dyche be relieved of his duties.

However, King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - believes Dyche should be left to get on with the job at hand for now.

"I believe the Friedkin Group quite like Moyes," King said.

"Everton are in a similar position to how they were when Moyes first took over at Goodison Park. He built them into a very difficult team to play against and also provided European football and got them to a cup final.

"However, for now, Dyche is the manager. Therefore, until he is relieved of his duties, we should let him get on with the job.”

David Moyes to replace Sean Dyche at Everton?

Should Moyes replace Dyche, it would be quite the emotional homecoming. If he were to keep the Toffees in the Premier League this season, it would only further cement his legacy at Goodison Park.

Not that it is necessarily a legacy which needs further cementing.

Dyche is under pressure and will need to turn things around fast. However, with Friedkin supposedly a fan of Moyes - who is out of a job - and the Toffees sat in 19th, the writing might already be on the wall.
