Ally McCoist claimed it is "unbelievable" that Rob Edwards has emerged as the best looking Premier League manager when it should be Everton boss Sean Dyche.

The talkSPORT pundit was speaking live on the station to Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer (13 March) about his manager when he made the joke at the Toffees' man.

According to the Daily Mail (18 January) the Kenilworth Road boss has become an "accidental sex symbol" after a viral interview following his side's win over Bolton earlier this year.

McCoist told Lockyer of the focus on Edwards (9.12am): "Which I find unbelievable. I think Dychey should get it all day."

Rowing back he later admitted: "It has to be said competition ain't fierce."

Dyche has got far bigger things to worry about as he looks to get his Toffees squad back into form at their Portuguese training camp.

After an excellent run of results in early December in the wake of the original points deduction the confidence of his players appears to have deserted them.

Everton haven't won in the Premier League since the start of 2024, and after a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford in a game where they mostly outplayed Manchester United they are just four points from Edwards' Luton in the relegation zone.

Dyche will only be worried about overcoming Edwards in the table, and with three weeks before the next game at Bournemouth on 30 March he has taken the side for a warm-weather camp which really needs to yield some results.
