Everton 'crisis' meetings mooted after new Goodison Park developments emerge
Everton won't yet be holding "crisis" meetings following their miserable start to the Premier League season, according to Andy Townsend.
The Toffees currently sit bottom of the Premier League table and are the only team yet to score a goal this term, having lost both of their opening two games of the league season.
Although talkSPORT pundit Townsend believed the Blues need a win to lift the mood on the blue half of Merseyside before the international break, he doesn't believe Dyche will be calling the squad in for talks quite yet.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (26 August, 8:39) he said: "It's not crisis meeting time. However, what they've got to do is they've got to get something on the board pretty quickly.
"We've got an international break coming up, during that break, if you're sat at rock bottom of the pile without a point on the board, it can be really tough on you."
Will Everton sack Sean Dyche after Goodison Park developments?
While the current situation around Everton is a bleak one, the Toffees are only two games into the new season and there is still plenty of time for Dyche and the powers at be to turn things around at Goodison Park.
The Blues started the season poorly last term and managed to finish comfortably clear of the dropzone despite being hit with two separate point deductions for breaches of profit and sustainability regulations.
Ultimately, Dyche is still managing with one hand behind his back because of the ongoing ownership situation.
Yes, performances and results haven't been good enough, but the Blues boss had had to contend with an injury crisis as well as a lack of transfer funds.
Hopefully, one or two more additions will be made before the transfer window slams shut on Friday 30 August, but supporters shouldn't be expecting loads of activity both in and out of Goodison Park.
Hopefully, Townsend will be right and the Blues will find a way to turn things around before it is too late for Dyche.
